TAKE ACTION: Tell Gov. Christie to make a better choice for NJ.

Want higher property taxes?

No? We didn't think so. But that's what is going to happen if we let Chris Christie's budget pass.

What's worse: Christie is cutting taxes on the very wealthiest New Jerseyans - people making over $400,000 per year - and for corporations like A.I.G. and Morgan Stanley.

You can push back. Sign the Better Choices for NJ petition.

Christie has promised to veto any bills asking the wealthiest to pay their fair share. 1 Instead, he is putting the burden of balancing the budget on you. How?

  • If you own a home, don't expect a rebate check this summer and look out for a higher property tax bill next year.
  • If you take the bus or train, you'll be paying more and getting less service.
  • If you have kids in New Jersey's public colleges or universities, you'll have to pay more in tuition.
  • If you have children in public schools, you may have to pay for their extra-curricular activities.
  • If you get an Earned Income Tax Credit, expect a smaller refund this year.

But it's not all done. The budget battle is heating up right now, and we can avoid much of the above by asking for a budget of real shared sacrifice that asks the wealthy and corporations to pitch in.

Gov. Christie needs to hear from you today. Send him a message by signing the Better Choices for NJ petition.
